Celebrating the first year of Sasha Glybina showroom

Last Friday the young ukrainian designer Sasha Glybina celabrated the first year of her showroom by throwing a loud party and inviting numerous friends, that made it almost inpossible to move in the room. but that is another reason that this talented girl is gonna be successful. and let me asure you, the night was really fun))

В минувшую пятницу молодой дизайнер Саша Глыбина отметила день рождения своего годовалого шоу-рума, закатив шумную вечеринку и созвав друзей, заполнивших все пространство помещения. в тесноте, да не в обиде. количество желающих поздравить виновницу торжества в очередной раз доказало возрастающую успешность талантливой девушки. не говоря уже о какой-то особой позитивной атмосфере, царившей в тот вечер. было определенно весело))

Die Christmas party at L'UVE store

The best 'before New Year celebration' that I've attended recently was for sure the Die Christmas party at L'UVE store last Friday. this was my first time in the shop, but I was really excited to come there after I've heard lot's of stories from it's opening (I was in Lviv that weekend). and what can I say, everything lived up to my expectations! I loved the stylish interior, and the pleasant atmosphere, supported by dj lounge music and subdued candle light, and a huge make-up corner, where you could get your professional make-up done, and of course the beautiful L'UVE clothes and shoes created by the talented designer Valeria Kovalska. that was an amazing evening.

Самой лучшей предновогодней вечеринкой, на которой мне довелось побывать за последнее время, с уверенностью можно назвать Die Christmas party в L'UVE store состоявшуюся в минувшую пятницу. не смотря на то, что порог магазина переступала я в первый раз, наслушавшись положительных отзывов после его открытия (я как раз тот викенд проводила во Львове), ожидания были на высоте. оправдались они с успехом! мне там понравилось прямо-таки все: и стильный интерьер, и приятная непринужденная атмосфера, подкрепленная звуками лаунж музыки и приглушенным светом свечей, и огромное трюмо (хотя не уверена, что в данном случае это называется именно так) с косметикой, где всем желающим визажисты делали макияж (в числе которых была и я), ну и конечно-же одежда и обувь L'UVE от талантливого дизайнера Валерии Ковальской, качество и вид которых окрыляет надеждой на светлое будущее украинской моды.

PRZHonskaya showroom opening

Last Friday I was invited to the showroom opening of ukrainian designer Elena Przhonskaya, which is situated in the heart of the capital. the first obvious thing coming to my mind when entering the place was the feeling of coziness and some kind of relaxation, perfectly paired with a glass of dry wine and clothes of unusual cut. a decent quantity of guests of various ages and personal style, wanting to great the designer and add some new items to their wardrobe was another proof that pieces of basic colour scheme, relative severity and architectural forms are always in demand. also, I just can't but mention the amazing balcony of the former 'stalin's flat' which provides a breathtaking view over the Kiev center, guess I could spend hours there watching the night life in motion...)))

В прошлую пятницу я была приглашена на открытие шоу-рума дизайнера Елены Пржонской, который обосновался в самом центре столицы - на улице Васильковская 14. первое, что хочется отметить - это совершенно домашне-уютная атмосфера царившая в помещении, настраивающая на проведение приятного вечера в компании бокала сухого вина и вещей необычного кроя. желающих поздравить дизайнера и пополнить гардероб собралось довольно таки много, абсолютно разных возрастов и стилей в одежде, что в очередной раз подтвердило о выигрышности сочетания сдержаной цветовой гаммы, относительной строгости и архитектурных форм. а еще, в этой бывшей сталинской квартире имеется шикарный балкон, с которого свысока  часами можно наблюдать за ритмом киевской жизни, по крайней мере, мне бы так хотелось...))

At Sasha Glybina showrom

Last week we went to Sasha Glybina showroom to try some clothes on and to talk with the youngest Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Kiev participant about her career and future plans. as usual, we found Sasha busy dealing with all kind of things, from choosing the music for the new video ad to managing the international shipping (yes, she's becoming international). so while strolling in my favourite dress from cruise collection, I've found out from designer that she's in search for business partners at the moment, plans to create her own patterns in the future, make a second line (that will be more sporty) and of course invade international markets which she thinks will meet her creations better than at home. the most surprising thing for me was that some of Glybina pieces are really unique: after she makes the collection sometimes there's simply no more of the same materials left at the stocks. to check the spring summer 2012 show go HERE.

На прошлой неделе мы решили заглянуть в шоу-рум Саши Глыбиной, померять там одежду и пообщатся с самой молодой участницей Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Kiev о ее карьере и планах на будущее. как всегда, застали Сашу погруженную в решение деловых вопросов, от выбора музыки для нового рекламного видео до выбора способа отправки ее вещей за границу (да, дизайнер выходит на международный уровень). итак, пока я расхаживала в моем любимом платье из круизной коллекции, Глыбина поведала, что находится в поиске бизнес-партнеров, в будущем собирается запустить вторую линию (более спортивную), а так же создавать ткани со своим дизайном, и конечно же завоевать западные рынки, которые как она сама считает примут ее творения с большим пониманием нежели отечественный. самым интересным для меня было узнать, что некоторые вещи производимые дизайнером поистине уникальны: отшив коллекцию, порой просто невозможно отыскать использованные в ней материалы. показ Sasha Glybina весна-лето 2012 я публиковала ЗДЕСЬ.

KARAVAY spring-summer 2012 collection presentation

To tell you the truth, Irina Karavay choice surprised me at first, choosing presentation instead of catwalk to show the latest spring-summer collection is a bit unusual. but first step into her small, but very cozy showroom (which is in Kiev, Antonovicha 38b street) was enough for the answer to appear itself. the room decoration, from walls to confectionery treats, was like a continuation of pastel, sugary-coloured clothes. it felt like becoming a part of 'Marie-Antoinette' film (starring Kirsten Dunst), a desire to touch everything around was present with me all the time. sometimes it even seemed that the roses crafted on the dresses smell the same way the nearby ones, standing in the crystal vases, do. my attention was absolutely stolen by the sunnies in the handcrafted wooden frames, it was so hard to put them back on the plate...Irina told that there are only 10 of them and the World Fashion Channel host - that they suit me perfectly)) the phrases embroidered on the clothes didn't stay unnoticed as well as the 'piercing' buttons, making romantic outfits even more unique. so I recommend to you all not hesitate and 'meet' the magnificent collection yourself, it is definitely one of Karavay best ones.

Признаться честно, меня сначала удивил выбор Ирины Каравай в пользу презентации, а не показа, на которой и демонстрировалась новая летняя коллекция дизайнера. но стоило мне переступить порог ее маленького, но невероятно уютного шоу-рума (который находится по адресу ул. Антоновича 38б), как ответ нарисовался сам собой. оформление помещения, от стен до кондитерских угощений, были словно продолжением одежды, выполненной в пастельных "сладких" тонах. создавалось ощущение как будто попадаешь в фильм "Мария-Антуанетта" (с Кирстен Данст в главной роли), желание ко всему притронутся не оставляло ни на минуту. иногда даже казалось, что розы вышитые на платьях пахнут так же прекрасно, как те, что стояли рядом в хрустальных вазах. больше всего мое внимание привлекли очки в деревянной оправе ручной работы, было очень сложно расстаться с ними и положить обратно на тарелку... Ирина сказала, что их всего 10, а ведущая World Fashion Channel - что они идеально мне подходят)) не остались без моего внимания и фразы, вышитые на вещах, и застежки "пирсинг", придающие трогательным нарядам еще большей неповторимости. в общем советую всем прикоснутся к прекрасному, это одна из лучших коллекций Каравай.

Ukrainian Fashion Week. day 5

On the 5th day of UFW I've managed to come with a better cam, but still it didn't help much with a catwalk shooting. the look I chose to try was quite strict, black+leopard, I wore the dress by turkish young designers (that looks a bit like Lanvin to me), Fornarina knee-high wedges and River Island clutch.
